This pull request introduces a new GitHub Actions workflow to automate the process of uploading a Python package to PyPI when a release is created. The most important changes include defining the workflow configuration, setting up the necessary permissions, and specifying the steps for building and publishing the package.

Workflow configuration and permissions:

  • .github/workflows/python-publish.yml: Added a new workflow named "Upload Python Package" that triggers on release publication and includes permissions for reading contents and writing id-tokens.

Steps for building and publishing the package:

  • .github/workflows/python-publish.yml: Defined the release-build job to check out the repository, set up Python, build the release distributions, and upload the artifacts.
  • .github/workflows/python-publish.yml: Defined the pypi-publish job to download the built distributions and publish them to PyPI using the pypa/gh-action-pypi-publish action.# Description

Github runner images repo generates the runner images that are used by Github hosted runners.
Hence closing this PR as it does not pertain to python artifact creation.
